With around 20 games under my belt so far, it’s been a truly rewarding experience for several reasons:

1. I’ve had the chance to connect with the wonderful people around the club and re-connect with my birthplace, having been born in Swindon during that memorable Premier League season in 1993/94. Thanks Dad!

2. I certainly watch football differently. Transitioning from playing (to watching on TV) and now commentating, I’ve had to be much more intentional in how I observe and articulate the game. Understanding the “why” and “how” has challenged me to apply my knowledge in new ways, and expanding it at the same time.

3. I’m learning every game. I have huge respect for Andrew Hawes’ ability as lead commentator, and for me, it’s about developing and finding my own voice as co-commentator.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity, for the kind feedback I’ve received, and above all, for the engagement and support from Swindon fans.

Commentating wasn’t something I ever envisioned doing, but now that I’m here, I’m really enjoying it. I’m developing in communication, media, and analysis, and this experience has made me all the richer as I continue this journey across the ever-varied world of football.
